Paul Prien

Founder & Chief Philosopher · PaulP Coaching

SHORT BIO

Paul Prien is a writer, coach, and reflective practitioner, and the founder of PaulP Coaching and the community God’s Guinea Pigs. After four decades building a career in systems, operations, and leadership, he came to understand something many successful, reflective people sense but struggle to name: survival is sacred, but it was never meant to be permanent.

Today he walks alongside capable people whose lives still work on the surface, yet who feel a growing tension underneath. His practical philosophy, Service to your Future Self, is built on a simple belief: that your Present Self serves your Future Self through small, intentional choices, made consistently over time. He is the author of the forthcoming Survive. Become. Return..

And he is still walking the path himself.

FULL BIO

Paul Prien is a writer, coach, and reflective practitioner exploring what it means to live in Service to your Future Self.

For more than four decades, he built a career in systems, operations, leadership, and entrepreneurship — work that demanded clarity, structure, and the resilience to adapt. But beneath the success lived a quieter question, one that had followed him for nearly fifty years:

What happens when the life that once fit no longer aligns with who you are becoming?

That question became the foundation of his work.

Through years of loss, responsibility, caregiving, and rebuilding, Paul came to understand something many successful, reflective people sense but struggle to name:

Survival is sacred. But it was never meant to be permanent.

Today, he walks alongside capable people whose lives still work on the surface — yet who feel a growing tension underneath. The season that once asked them to survive, achieve, and endure is now asking something different: alignment, creativity, direction, and becoming.

His work draws philosophy, behavioral science, systems thinking, and lived experience into a practical philosophy called Service to your Future Self, centered on Vision, Systems, and Becoming. At its heart is a simple belief:

Your Present Self serves your Future Self through small, intentional choices, made consistently over time.

Paul is also the founder of God’s Guinea Pigs, a community built on the understanding that becoming is difficult in isolation. It exists to create conversations where people can reconnect with direction and walk their seasons of transition — without feeling pressured to dismantle the lives they have already built.

He is the author of the forthcoming book Survive. Become. Return.: The Philosophy of Living in Service to your Future Self.

Paul does not believe people change all at once. He believes they change the way meaningful lives are built: slowly, honestly, imperfectly, and in the company of others willing to keep returning.

And he is still walking the path himself.
